When my son was born I decided that I would like to make his Christening cake.  I knew that I couldn't expect to just rustle one up for the big day without a bit of practice.  So with a few months till the big day I had a go at making some cakes. Thankfully it was my husbands and son's birthdays in the month's leading up to the Christening. 

 

The first cake I made was my son's 1st birthday cake, and my second and third cakes were both for my husbands birthday, lucky him he got 2 cakes, a Vespa cake and a Bounty chocolate bar cake.  As these cakes came out alright I felt confident enough to make a 3 tiered Christening cake for my son.  Each tier was a different flavour, and everybody loved it. 

 

After this I became hooked.  Cake making, has become a hobby that gives me a tremendous amount of pleasure, and gives me the opportunity to be creative.  Best of all I get to make cakes for others and see their faces light up when they receive them.
